How to apply

Setting up a TEXT project in your school is easy to do.  TEXT runs projects in different ways, from one-off unique projects, longer term residencies and larger scale programmes involving several schools.  Contact us and let us know what you're interested in doing and we'll get in touch with you to arrange a meeting with one of our co-ordinators. 

Options:      

  • Take part in our current project
  • Develop your own proposal based on a project TEXT has previously run.
  • Develop your own project to address issues/subject areas particularly relevant to your school
  • Work with a writer on a longer term residency in your school.

Cost of a TEXT project

The cost of a TEXT residency varies with the length of the residency. 

A typical project will consist of:

  • Initial scoping meeting at your school with TEXT co-ordinator
  • Planning meeting with a TEXT co-ordinator and the writer
  • Contact days (number to be agreed) with the writer in your school

Here is an example of the cost of a five day project:

Initial meeting with TEXT Co-ordinator £80
Planning meeting with TEXT co-ordinator and writer  £160
Five contact days (@ £275 per day)  £1375

Any additional project co-ordination, resources/production costs to be negotiated

If your school is in south Islington, the school may be eligible for funding from the Cripplegate Foundation towards the cost of running a TEXT project.
