Children reading

About TEXT

TEXT has had a transformational impact during its many residencies since it began in 2003. Created and funded by the Cripplegate Foundation and supported by Cambridge Education @ Islington, the TEXT approach is based on research with Islington schools.

TEXT has worked with primary and secondary schools on a variety of projects:

  • Curriculum (e.g. science - forces)
  • Transition (Big fish, Little fish)
  • Identity (Who am I?)
  • Film and visual arts (e.g. documentary film about the Reading Champions Project)
  • Drama (plays about Ancient Greece, WWII).
