How the Foundation develops its pro-activity programme

It identifies gaps in services through an analysis of information available on the area, local networks and its grant giving programmes

We call meetings and hold small conferences to discuss issues and problems. Often, we have introduced people to each other who are in the same field of work but have never met as they work for different organisations.

We set up a steering group to take the issue forward - through Foundation funding or links to other organisations or funders.

Canonbury Community Development Group

An example of the Foundation's proactivity programme is the Canonbury Community Development Group. The Foundation is currently looking at how it can best address gaps in services in the Essex Road area of Islington.
