About us:
What does the Foundation do?

Our work with organisations is more than cash grant giving. Staff give advice to organisations on project development and management, premises, other sources of funding and local networks. Foundation staff meet all applicants and all funded projects are visited. Governors also visit projects.

Because the Foundation operates in a small geographical area, its work differs from many trusts with a national remit. We bring organisations and residents together to identify and promote new areas of work.

The Foundation's grants support training and development of organisations as well as project work. We provide core funding. Our grants programme aims to be flexible to encourage organisations to meet the changing needs of local residents.

Our Grants to Individuals Programme aims to ensure that applicants receive all state benefits and services and that local residents are aware of services which can help them.

A central part of the Foundation's work is its pro-activity.
